Plaintiff sued the defendants for breach of contract of employment and unlawful termination of employment.
The issue had been the fact that the plaintiff had incorrectly paid out N120 on a voucher to some workmen, instead of N12.00. However, he voucher was checked and passed by two senior officers of the company.
Despite that fact, the company dismissed the plaintiff summarily. The learned trial judge held in favour of the plaintiff.
Defendants appealed to the Supreme Court.
